David Killin – Teacher
Hi, my name’s David Killin and I’m from Cape Town, South Africa. I’ve been working in the ESL industry for almost 8 years and have taught students from as far away as Taiwan, Switzerland, Brazil and Chad! I’ve spent the last several years teaching in East Asia and have recently returned to South Africa. I’ve been privileged to have the chance to learn about new people and cultures. I love to travel and really enjoy meeting and getting to know people from other countries. Teaching English has given me the wonderful opportunity to explore the world and get to interact with new people, for which I’m very grateful. I hope I can meet many more students from distant lands and share the many experiences we have all had.
Heike Laufer – Teacher
I joined Eurocentres recently and enjoy the teaching environment I am exposed to. Mostly, I love the diversity of the students in a class. A mix of students lends itself to many interesting dynamics and great interactions in a good atmosphere. I also enjoy teaching Business English, here students talk about work, developing countries and learn a range of relevant vocabulary. I really enjoy teaching at Eurocentres and engaging with all the different students.
Lucia Forbes – Teacher
My name is Lucia Forbes. I’ve been teaching English at Eurocentres since 2005. I teach adult learners from beginner to advanced levels. I also teach business English and technical English to our corporate clients and exam classes.
Mike McKune – Teacher
My name is Michael McKune and I’ve worked in the banking and financial sectors for many years. My banking experiences include both local and foreign banking. I’ve worked for Barclay’s bank, Citibank and Nedbank. I have served as the banks Branch Accountant, Trade Manager, local and international Treasury Manager and finally as Liabilities Manager. My later years experience included managing the Financial Rand Mechanism for Nedbank, South Africa’s Western Cape region. I served as Nedbank’s representative on the board of ‘the Institute of Banking’. The prime responsibilities of this Institute were the education of young bankers. A natural progression of this position was the opening up of a full local and international currency trading and money market room, in Cape Town responsible for all the banks dealings from Namibia through to the Western Cape and Eastern Cape. I joined a debt administration company for a short period, working within the legal system to protect consumers. Upon retiring from the banking sector, I took up a new challenge by teaching English as a Foreign Language course through Eurocentres as well as the Celta course. I have been teaching and tutoring English and Business Communication for the past eight years, to local and international students. I enjoy the outdoors and like to walk. I feel that teaching is my way of ‘giving back’ to society.
Sean Liddell – Teacher
My name is Sean and I am a teacher at Eurocentres. I have been teaching English to international students since 1998. I have taught many different people from around the world in all the different levels including all the Cambridge Exam classes such as F.C.E or C.A.E. I have travelled to various other countries and am interested in learning about different cultures. I am hard working, trustworthy, reliable, friendly and open minded.
Megan Trevou – Teacher
I’m originally from Durban, and began teaching at Eurocentres in 2014, after completing my masters’ degree in the UK. I’ve also had the opportunity to live and teach in Korea and Cambodia, to students of all ages and backgrounds. I love travelling, meeting new people, and learning about different cultures, and have spent a lot of time backpacking through Southeast Asia. The thing I love most about teaching is watching my students progress and become more confident in and out of the classroom, as well as all the lively discussions and debates.
Frans De Wet – Teacher
Hi, I’m Frans and I’m an Architecture graduate from the University of Pretoria. Charismatic, enthusiastic and passionate, that’s me, in a nutshell. I’m enthusiastic about learning from my students as much as I am passionate about teaching them. Teaching should be an experience where both the student and the teacher can learn, build and grow from one another, inside and outside the classroom. I want to allure my students towards the wonders of communication and language. I’m young, fun and love to build rapport with my students, connecting with them on a more personal level. My hobbies are playing and making music as well as surfing, skateboarding and any other adventurous outdoor activities.
