Design Indaba Expo - 27 February - 1 March 2009
First launched in 2004 as an initiative of the Department of Trade and Industry, the Design indaba Expo has now grown into a wide ranging commercial platform for local design. All sectors of design are embraced and the Indaba facilitates a meeting point for local designers and international buyers. Only Proudly South African goods and services are showcased and include advertising, architecture, craft, decor, film, fashion, graphic & interior design, jewellery, new media, publishing and product design.

Times - Friday 27 February 11am - 8pm, Saturday 28 February & Sunday 1 March 10am - 6pm
Tickets - available at the door and are valid for day of entry only. Adults - R45, Students and Pensioners R25, Scholars - R15, Children under the age of 5 - Free

The Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour - 8 March 2009
The largest cycling event in the world will take place on Sunday 8 March and this year local entries have topped the 35 000 level.
In 2007 over 2000 international cyclists took part in this premier cycling event and many more are expected in the Mother City this year. The 108 km route passes through some of the most magnificent scenery on offer in the Cape including the area around Cape Point and Scarborough and the world renowned Chapman's Peak Drive.
The inaugural race took place in 1978 and 525 entrants took part, since then it has grown into the powerhouse of international cycling competitions. Over 2500 volunteers assist with this global event and all proceeds are donated to charity.
Venue - start in the City Centre and finish at the Green Point Stadium

The Wellington Harvest Festival - dates to be confirmed
The town of Wellington opens its doors each year to the public in an effort to promote its locally produced wines, grapes, cheeses, fruit and other delicacies. It is a fun filled week-end for the entire family with marathons and music as part of the festival. Each year different wine estates take part and invite guests to enjoy not only their wines but their family homes and gardens too.
