English and Volunteer Programme

Do you want to see the other side of South Africa while improving your English language skills? If you want to get involved socially and contribute to the development of the country, then our English and Volunteer programme is for you.

During this programme you will learn English at one of the most established language schools in Cape Town. You are welcome to participate in a social project during your studies, where your application, adaptability, endurance and development skills will be needed.

We offer our volunteers the opportunity to come into contact with the local community and experience South Africa and its open-minded people.

Together with our partners, Eurocentres English language school offers volunteering projects in areas such as education, social welfare and environmental protection.

Project examples:

Orphanage Project

Learn English in Cape Town and participate in our volunteering program at the orphanage. The orphanage houses about 140 children. Volunteers help with the support and care of children in their after school activities such as homework, play or even if they just want to talk.

The children usually come from disadvantaged backgrounds and have a lot of negative experiences within their families. It is important that volunteers be very understanding, compassionate and patient with the children. On a lighter note, the children work with many international volunteers and are used to meeting different people and will be happy to meet you!

Volunteers stay in a separate accommodation where they share a room with 2-3 others, or even in the children’s houses. Night shifts are required for all volunteers and are on a rotating schedule.
