It is a street that smells of delicious Indian, Spanish and Cape Malay food. You can visit a fascinating book store set in a beautifully restored Victorian Villa, art galleries showcasing the talent of the locals and bohemian clothing stores where the unusual is really quite ordinary!

The Pan African Market with its wood carvings, African masks, brightly coloured textiles and hand-made drums stands near one of the oldest hotels of the Mother City, the Grand Daddy, formerly called the Metropole, which dates back to 1894 and is considered one of the hottest boutique hotels in South Africa.

The Long Street Baths

The Long Street Turkish Baths have a heated swimming pool that is open throughout the year. The Turkish Baths are a firm favourite with businessmen and city dwellers alike. The Baths, built in the early 1900’s, have recently been renovated and also feature beautiful art works on the walls.
