Botswana

Botswana contains some wonderful wilderness areas, including the famous Okavango Delta. This is a massive and unspoilt area of waterways home to many animals and birds. The best way to explore this area is by dugout canoe ("makoro"). The canoe is moved by pushing a long stick against the bed of the river.

The country has a good economy and stable political system. This is resulting in better standards of living for the people. Botswana has very good facilities for more upmarket travelers, with superb luxury camps and lodges.
