Lesotho
Lesotho is a wonderful country, but you do need to have some appetite for adventure. It is the only country in the world entirely surrounded by another country (South Africa). This Mountain Kingdom is known as "The Little Switzerland", as two-thirds of its land area contains spectacular mountains. These rise up to a height of over 3800 metres.
Many of the charming mountain people who live in Lesotho travel only on foot or by horse, because it is too difficult to build roads through such rugged terrain. A great way to see some of this beautiful country is to go on an organised pony trek through the mountains.
